Barbecue Jackfruit Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 Package Pre-made Pizza Dough
  • 1 Can Young Jackfruit
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Broth
  • 1 cup Vegan Cheese (I used Miyoko's Mozzarella)
  • 1 1/2 cups Barbecue Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Red Onion (Diced or Sliced)
  • 1/4 cup Green Onions (chopped) (Chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro
  • 2-3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Dried Chili Flakes
  • 1/4 cup Vegan Ranch Dressing (I used Follow Your Heart Ranch Dressing)


Instructions

BBQ Jackfruit

  1. Drain, rinse and separate jackfruit into small “shredded” pieces and remove seeds.
  2. In a medium saucepan on medium heat, add water, vegetable broth, and jackfruit.
  3. Bring to boil. Lower heat to simmer until liquid has almost fully evaporated.
  4. Remove from heat. Stir in ¼ of barbecue sauce. 

Pizza

  1. Preheat oven to 450℉
  2. On a floured surface, roll out pizza dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  3. Brush dough with a thin layer of olive oil.
  4. Evenly distribute remaining barbecue sauce.
  5. Top with vegan cheese, red onions, and jackfruit.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.
  7. Allow pizza to cool for 5-7 minutes.
  8. Garnish with green onions, cilantro, and red pepper flakes.
  9. Drizzle with ranch dressing.
  10. Enjoy!
