Description
Simple stewed apples made with fresh Granny Smith and Fuji apples, warm cinnamon and nutmeg, and a just-right touch of sweetness.

- 2-3 Apples (Granny Smith & At Least 1 Fuji)
- 2-3 tbsp Maple Syrup or Agave
- 1/2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tbsp Water
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Pinch Nutmeg
- Pinch Salt
Instructions
- Peel the apples and cut them into small, bite-sized chunks.
- To a small saucepan over medium heat, add the apples, water, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
- Stir and bring the apples to a simmer.
- Lower the heat and allow the apples to simmer for 7-10 minutes, or until the apples are slightly tender.
- In the last few minutes of cooking, carefully taste test the apples and sweeten them with the agave or maple syrup according to your taste.
- Remove the apples from the heat. Enjoy them warm or allow them to cool before serving.
