How to Make an Apple Puff Pastry Galette:

  1. Peel and dice the apples.
  2. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the sugars and stir until combined with the butter.
  4. Add the apples, vanilla extract, lemon juice, spices, and cornstarch. Stir until the apples are fully coated.
  5. Allow to simmer while stirring occasionally for at least 10 minutes.
  6. Remove the apple filling from the heat and let it cool for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Reserve one teaspoon of apple filling syrup. This is an optional step.
  8. Gently roll out the pastry dough 2-3 times in each direction.
  9. Add the apple filling to the center of the puff pastry and spread it into a single layer.
  10. Fold the edges of the pastry over the apples.
  11. Brush the edges of the pastry with the “egg wash”.
  12. Bake according to the puff pastry package instructions (this may vary depending on the brand).
  13. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. It is best enjoyed fresh.

How to Store The Pastry

Leftover apple puff pastry galette can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.  It can be reheated in the microwave for 30-45 seconds, but I recommend popping it back in the oven for about 5-7 minutes at 350 ℉.
