This simple strawberry compote is not only easy to make, but it is also jammy, sweet, and can be served with so many things.

Ingredients to Make Strawberry Compote:

  • Strawberries: fresh or frozen strawberries can be used for this recipe, but I used frozen.
  • Sweetener: Agave or maple syrup
  • Lemon Zest: for added aroma.
  • Lemon Juice: this add more brightness and balances out the sweetness.
  • Vanilla Extract: for added warmth and depth of flavor.
This simple strawberry compote is not only easy to make, but it is also jammy, sweet, and can be served with so many things.

How to Make Strawberry Compote:

  1. Add the strawberries, sweetener, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and zest to a small saucepan on medium heat.
  2. Simmer, stirring frequently, for a bout 10-15 minutes or until the juices start to thicken enough to coat your spoon or spatula.
  3. Allow the compote to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight jar or container to store.

How to Store Strawberry Compote:

Once cooled, store the strawberry compote in an airtight container or jar for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
