The Best Dragon Fruit Smoothie Recipe

A perfectly sweet and tangy dragon fruit smoothie made with just five ingredients. This smoothie has bright flavors and is completely dairy-free and vegan.  A delicious and refreshing smoothie that’s great for an extra boost of hydration on a warm day.

A perfectly sweet and tangy dragon fruit smoothie is made with just five ingredients.

Ingredients to Make a Dragon Fruit Smoothie:

  • Dragon Fruit: fresh or frozen. I’ve found it’s much easier to find frozen dragon fruit that is much cheaper than fresh dragon fruit.
  • Strawberries:  to compliment the light flavor of the dragon fruit.
  • Coconut Water: I like to use this for the neutral flavor and boost of electrolytes.
  • Lime Juice: to balance out the sweet flavor of the dragon fruit and strawberries
  • Maple Syrup: for added sweetness, but this is optional.

How to Make a Dragon Fruit Smoothie:

  1. Add the dragon fruit, strawberries, coconut water, lime juice, and maple syrup to a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Enjoy right away.

Fruits & Liquids that Pair well with this Dragon Fruit Smoothie Recipe:

  • Frozen Mango
  • Banana
  • Lychee
  • Watermelon

In place of the coconut water…

  • Coconut Milk
  • Almond Milk
  • Soy Milk

Things to Add to Your Smoothie to Make it More Nutritious:

  • Protein Boost: Add a scoop of protein powder of your choice. I’d recommend a fruit-flavored or vanilla protein powder that won’t clash with the fruit in the smoothie.
  • Greek Yogurt: I recommend plain Greek yogurt for a boost of protein and to make the smoothie creamier.
  • Add Superfoods: a tablespoon of chia seeds, hemp seeds, or ground flax seeds are all great ways to add healthy fats, fiber, and minerals to your smoothie without changing the flavor.
  • Extra Fruit: the choices are totally up to you.
  • More Greens: add raw or cooked kale, chard, or collard greens for an added boost of nutrition.
  • Neutral Veggies: cauliflower is excellent to add to this smoothie for more veggie power.
